Endeavour/ Brevard Community College partnership
Endeavour Elementary has partnered with our local community college to hold their Child and Youth Development class at our school and in our classrooms for first hand , real-life experience. Brevard Community College students visit once a week for an hour and are matched with a classroom at our school. The college student implements a "Build a Child" project where they observe, mentor, and reflect upon a child's growth during the term as well as support the classroom teacher by working with small groups of students to practice appropriate grade level concepts. This college course is offered both winter and spring terms so we have two different groups of mentors working with our students throughout the year. This weekly, consistent interaction enables both college and Endeavour students to form bonds and supports a reciprocal learning environment.
