Read!Read!Read with Your Community!
In an effort to promote reading, build relationships, and showcase community in our school, Fairway students were asked to read, read, read to everyone they met! They were given a list of community members such as grandparents, waiters, fire fighters, veterans, neighbors, doctors, etc. and asked to read books, magazines, recipes, or anything else to them. They had their picture taken while reading and used their pictures to create a collage. The community reading collages filled every hallway in our school and served as a reminder, to all in our building, of the fun and importance of both reading and relationships!
