Bunches
Building relationships is essential in building a strong school community. George Guffey Elementary has participated in "Buddies" for many years. This has increased positive student to student relationships. We decided to take this one step further and successfully implemented "Bunches". Every staff member has one to two students from each grade level in their Bunch. There are 48 Brilliant Bunches working together at Guffey Elementary. They meet monthly and participate in team builders, lessons, activities and service learning projects. Staff members have commented on how excited members of their Bunch are to see them throughout the school day. Students always ask when they will be able to meet with their Bunch next. The smiles, excitement and positive data have exceeded expectations. This is a practice that will continue for years to come.
