Am I Living the Life I Envisioned?
Former students from Gibbsboro School receive letters on their 21st birthdays. The letters are not your ordinary birthday wish from a family member or close friend, but a reminder of the commitment they made as students in the 6th grade. The powerful letter, written as a culminating activity, encourages and motivates one's self to avoid alcohol and substance abuse. Students remind themselves not to succumb to peer pressure, to make good choices, and to surround themselves with positive people. The young adults are able to reflect on the following question: Am I living the life I envisioned? It has been exciting for former students to share that one of the highlights of their 21st birthdays has been receiving their letters.
