Character Car Chat Cards
Our team at Imagine School at Evening Rose has been striving to incorporate all members of our school community in our character activities. To help involve the parents we have created Character Car Chats. These Character Car Chat Cards are given out at the beginning of each month to parents at dismissal. Each Car Chat card states the monthly character traits as well as three starter questions that the parent may ask their child to begin dialogue on the character trait. The parent may hang this Character Car Chat from their rearview mirror as a small reminder to speak about the monthly character trait. This tool is provided to scaffold the parent's involvement, deepen the understanding, and enhance the character communication from school to home. As a Character Committee, we wanted to include the parents in our everyday character lessons with the students. Providing the parents with these tools, we hope that they will bring the lesson home and incorporate into their home learning environment.
