Step Into My Shoes
Last year, the Buerkle Student Council wrote a program called "SIMS" which means Step Into My Shoes. SIMS is a seven-week-long program designed to raise awareness of bullying, to promote acceptance of others, and to prevent bullying. Throughout the program, we had two motivational speakers, plenty of hands-on activities, and T-shirts for everyone. The idea of this unit is to motivate the Buerkle students and help them to have compassion towards others. Our primary goal was for our students to learn how it feels to be in someone else's shoes!
