Student Leadership Committee
In December 2011 our leadership journey began by meeting as a Student Leadership Committee. At our initial meeting,students completed a Leadership Survey to understand their leadership style and their strengths as a leader. We are presently deciding on a Mission Statement by asking committee members to vote on the Leadership Webpage for their preferred choice. The Student Leadership Committee operates as six subcommittees: Webpage Committee, Poster Committee, Recess Activities, School Garden Committee, and Video Committee. The Webpage Committee has developed a Leadership Webpage: https://sites.google.com/a/ptsdwebapps.com/mcmurray-elementary-leadership/. The Poster Committee is presently working on professionally photographed Core Value Posters. Beautification of the school is the goal of our School Garden Committee, and during inclement weather the Recess Committee helps students be productive, but active . The students on the Video Committee are in the process of creating a total of nine short videos representing the Eight Habits. Although we are a young organization, much has been accomplished to empower our students as leaders in a short time.
