Teenage Health Consultant Program
Teenage Health Consultants are students of Mehlville High School that are interested in promoting a positive school community for students. These students are then trained by the St. Louis County Department of Health to give classroom presentations on the following topics: EVERY CHOICE COUNTS, CONFLICT RESOLUTION, ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUGS, AND DATING ISSUES. Teachers throughout the Mehlville School District are given the list of topics from the Teenage Health Consultants at the beginning of the school year. The consultants set up the schedule to come in and visit with students of various grade levels and teach a lesson on one of the following topics listed above. The lessons are interactive and encourage student participation. The Teenage Health Consultants present between 60-100 classroom presentations each year to students in 4th through 12th grades district-wide.
