Lazar's "Traveling Troupe" for Character
Each year Lazar students practice and perform plays for five elementary schools with themes related to good character and values. Over the years Fairy Tale-type productions that address kindness toward others that have included Rapunzel, The Princess, The Apple, and The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf offer examples of different points of view, acceptance of differences, tolerance, and caring for others. All encompass the core values of good character and positive lessons learned. At the elementary schools, Lazar students perform for the entire K-5 student population as a "Special Lazar Assembly" that students look forward to each year. Lazar's actors and actresses are also part of the selection process in finding a play that will teach "younger children" valuable lessons.
