The Young Males Moving Forward Program
The goals of The Young Males Moving Forward Program include, but are not limited to, assisting young men in learning to relate to others though understanding and tolerance, making sound decisions, and creating a platform that encourages vision, integrity, self-esteem and individual expression. The program strives to expose all participants to cultural and intellectual experiences. Through monthly workshops, culturally-based activities, journaling, game play, and community service, participants will learn the importance of brotherhood. The program is designed to motivate our youth to overcome roadblocks impeding their growth. The program adheres to a curriculum that focuses on development of character and leadership skills. Academics are integrated by offering tutoring in reading, writing and comprehension skills, while focusing on the development and nurturing of outstanding character. Participants in the program are expected to have excellent attendance and high scholastic achievement as well as demonstrate a positive attitude towards completing school work and relating to peers and adults.
