The Mariners are Motivated for March Mastery
In each class, teachers and students discussed motivation and preparation for the upcoming state assessment. We wanted students to be proud of all they had mastered throughout the year and to be excited to demonstrate this during the window of testing. Students needed to have energy and endurance in order to stay motivated. Teachers and students brainstormed ways to support each other during the state assessment. They made a large bulletin board visual to remind students daily to do their best and to support each other as a caring, learning community. Teachers utilized a "Stop, Drop and Prep" strategy for students to practice reading and writing skills and to keep them motivated as they attained success in their practice activities.
