Bus Driver Appreciation: Connecting Home and School
Recognizing and appreciating Woerther Elementary's bus drivers is an integral component of our caring school community. Representatives of Character Congress promote character traits with their buddy classes through monthly student-created appreciation activities. The lessons focus on connecting good character traits with student behavior. This helps build a connection between school and home as well as between students and bus drivers. Bus drivers are included in the Woerther community through staff support. They also form learning communities among themselves to share experiences and proactive interventions. This is an opportunity to build relationships between school staff and bus drivers.
